.1KYC helps SKPHost verify account ownership, reduce fraudulent orders, investigate payment or ownership disputes, identify compromised accounts, respond to phishing, malware, spam or network abuse, and maintain reliable customer records.
.1CERT-In issued Cyber Security Directions on 28 April 2022 under Section 70B(6) of the Information Technology Act, 2000. The official CERT-In materials specifically address a mechanism for validation of subscriber/customer details by Data Centres, VPS providers, Cloud Service providers and VPN Service providers.
.1The Information Technology Act, 2000 provides the statutory framework for electronic records, cyber security and CERT-In. Section 70B establishes CERT-In as the national agency for cyber incident response and provides for directions relating to cyber-security matters.
.1Depending on the service and risk, SKPHost may verify the customer’s name, contact information, address, account ownership, payment-related identity information, business details and an accepted identity document or other verification evidence.
.1SKPHost may accept Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, Driving Licence, Voter ID or another government-issued or otherwise accepted verification document, depending on the verification method and service requirements.
.1Customers must provide genuine, accurate and current information and must use only documents they are lawfully authorised to provide. Forged, altered, stolen, misleading or unauthorised identity documents are prohibited.
.1SKPHost may require completion of KYC before activation and may require verification or re-verification during an order review or while a service is active. A customer who does not complete requested KYC or re-verification within the stated or reasonable period may have activation withheld or the affected account/service restricted or suspended, subject to applicable law.
.1Successful verification does not prevent SKPHost from requesting re-verification when account ownership changes, material information conflicts, a payment or security risk arises, abuse is investigated, or updated verification is reasonably required.
.1For companies, organisations and reseller accounts, SKPHost may request information concerning the business and the authorised representative acting for it.
.1SKPHost may reject an order or restrict, suspend or terminate an affected service where verification information is forged, materially false, stolen, unauthorised or cannot reasonably be validated, subject to applicable law and SKPHost policies.
.1KYC information is processed for identity verification, account security, fraud and abuse prevention, incident investigation and applicable compliance purposes. Access should be limited to authorised purposes and handled in accordance with the SKPHost Privacy Policy and applicable law.
.1Verification records are retained according to the type of record, purpose and applicable requirements. For relevant Data Centre, VPS, Cloud Service and VPN Service providers, the CERT-In Cyber Security Directions of 28 April 2022 specify that the listed subscriber/customer information must be maintained for five years or longer where mandated by law after cancellation or withdrawal of registration, as applicable.
